About Macomb County Ministerial Alliance

 McMA is a group of Pastors joined together to make a different in Macomb County. The McMA is a Christian based social group with a belief in Jesus Christ and the principles found in the Holy bible to promote community economic development, social justice, racial equality for all Macomb County.

McMA was founded by Rev Otis White in 1986 as a nonpartisan group with a purpose of “Providing support and to be a Godly voice for minorities, youth and the underserved residents in Macomb County.

McMA has played a significant role in moving our county forward as it relates to it’s residents experiences and concerns by having a conscious awareness of things happening in our communities. MCMA’s presence throughout the county and our commitment to be “at the ready” supports our desire to ensure that all if the county’s citizenry compete on a level playing field; for the betterment of Macomb County.

Some of the accomplishments of McMA:

Some of the accomplishments of McMA:

    • Played a key role in addressing concerns at the then Macomb County Youth Home which resulted in major changes resulting in state intervention and a name change of Juvenile Justice Center (JIC)

 

    • Called for an FBI investigation into a cross burning in Chesterfield Township which forced the rehiring of the township’s police chief who was fired for his support of minority hiring.

 

    • Played a significant role in keeping a Crematorium from being built in the Quinn Road Community in southern Clinton Township.

 

    • The Alliance played a key role in keeping state prisoners from being housed exclusively in minority areas of the city of Mt. Clements.
  •  
    • Founded a Community Prayer call for clergy and leaders to gather to pray for our County officials, State and local police and fire departments and local city and schools’ officials and employees.
  •  
    • Hosts an annual Martin Luther King Jr. that brings together Church leaders, community and city officials and citizens to celebrate the accomplishments and dream of doctor King.
